I just finished watching the first season of 24 on DVD. I think it was exceptionally well done. A few things like liked about it:
1. An urgency from the hand-held camera look, without the motion sickness.
2. A great effective use of depth of field - the focus pullers definitely worked overtime.
3. Nice dialog framing which almost always included both subjects, one in the far foreground... it gives a strong sense of connection.
4. Great overall DP work.
5. Strong acting.
6. A compelling plot that wasn't believable in any literal sense, but which strongly encouraged a suspension of disbelief.
7. A good basic premise.
What I didn't like was the dearth of special features on the DVDs. I'm wondering if anyone has any good articles or resources for information about the making of. I would be very interested in hearing a bit about their process.
Anyone else have opinions to share on the show?
I did a search for prior conversations here, but with all the hits on 24p talk it's hard to find anything about this show.
