Hi,

I need to export some footage and transfer it to digibeta, the footage is shot on HDV 720p 24p, so what format should I export it to for the highest visual/sound quality before I hand it to the processing service?

Thanks

Ok so I just got to ask someone from a transfer service and he said a quicktime file will do, preferably uncompressed yuv 10bit 4:2:2 codec. but then he said it needs to be in 29.97fps, even if my footage was shot on 720p (24p) 23.976fps.

So should i really encode the footage with the 29.97fps setting? will it change how the footage looks, especially if it is supposed to have a 24p film look?

thanks

Use After Effects to scale the footage into a 720x486 comp at 23.976. Then export to your format of choice. In the render settings, turn on field rendering and then select any of the pulldown options below that. This will result in a 29.97 output that can be properly reconstructed to 24p if necessary. After Effects is the only Adobe app that can add pulldown properly.
