I'm looking at a second hand Z1 but I'd like to add an SD card recorder to it. Is this possible without an HD-SDI output? Is there one that hangs of the Firewire port or anything else?
Thanks
Thanks

Philip Howells August 31st, 2009, 02:48 AM I think you'll find the Firestore and Edirol units do the same. I've consider taking thius route - especially with the Edirtol which is formatted NTFS not Fat32 but I'd prefer an interface that locks - the firewire link can easily get pulled out. It works off the same batteries as the Z1, it is much smaller than a Firestore & in my opinion much easier to use. But it will ONLY do DV or HDV. I have used my MRC1 mostly w/ my Z7U, but I have also used it w/ a Z1 & a HVX (in DV mode). Marcus Martell September 11th, 2009, 10:33 AM Hi, you said that just works in dv and hdv so i didn't get what's missing in a z1 recording mode... I'm also interested to buy it for my hdv shotsAny issues?Which memory cards(in gb) do u recomend me to buy? thx Zach Love September 16th, 2009, 12:17 AM Hi, you said that just works in dv and hdv so i didn't get what's missing in a z1 recording mode... The Sony CompactFlash recorder can record any format the Z1 can record in. The two work beautifully together. |
