Hey Chris are you at the DV Expo? If so, I was just wondering if you heard any rumors about the XI replacement?

Boyd, I think that Rokta refers to the Optura XI (I know, difference between XI and Xl may be confusing :) )which has been discontinued no so long ago if I remember well. Since he has posted is question in the Optura forum, my assumption must be right.

Ah, you are so correct! Sorry, I've been so caught up in the frenzy over the XL-2 that I didn't read carefully...

Thought they might announce a replacement at the same time as the Xl2, or at least someone might be able to get a juicy rumor from them about it at the Expo.

Official word from Canon USA is that the Optura Xi remains current through the rest of 2004. They have no idea where the "discontinued" rumor came from.

Darn, that's not good news. Was hoping they might try a little oneupsmanship on the GS400 and HC1000.
