My girlfriend is going to be sending me a glidecam2000 from canada to the united kingdom. To save on the postage costs I was wondering if she really needed to send all 14 counterweight discs? I'll be using a sony vx2100 with a np-f960 battery.

Any advice is much appreciated.

FWIW I use 6 of the discs with my PDX10. I believe that the VX2100 is heavier, so you'll probably need more - especially if you add something like a WA adaptor. And I doubt you'd save much on shipping by leaving out some of the discs in any case (if anything at all).

I use 8 discs with a PD-150, which is only slightly heavier than your VX2100. Same battery used. Haven't tried it with the heavy Sony WA lens yet. This configuration needs probably two additional discs.
