Are the Panasonic AY-DVM63MQ , Master Quality miniDV's ok to use in the GL2?

Saw a post on another forum and they mentioned that the MQ's being a "wet" lubricated tape... Is this ok for the GL2?

I didn't even think about it when I bought 2 boxes of them the other day.

I've been informed that the PQ and MQ tapes are both dry lube now. That was according to the panasonic office I spoke to, but of course you will have to be a chemical engineer to really know the truth.

Karl,
The MQ's are among the best tapes you can use. I've been using both PQ's and MQ's for years.

Thanks for the reassurance guys.

We use them in the cameras at work, the main reason I decided upon them, just in case I used my camera for work, I'd want to use their tape stock and not my own, call me cheap:)

Never even thought about it until I read the post. That's why I figured I'd ask here, you guys know all about the GL2's:)

thanks again,

Karl

imy supplier seems to believe that PQs are dry, while MQs are wet.. ive never tried PQs but theyre a lil more expensive her, but i have NEVER had a drop out using MQ's (which from my researrrch, are in fact dry) these on the DVX or the MX500.

one thing to note, with any tape, its an idea to wind them forward then back before u use them to set the tape tension according to the cam.. i so this winding on teh MX500 for use in the DVX (saves tape transport wear and tear) and its works fine
