Did some editing on DV short movies, and up until I rendered to DVD, each clip played flawlessly, and in sync.

After making a DVD, or even just a DVD image, the audio goes out of sync +2sec on the movies past the first chapter. (each movie is in their own chapter)

The clips I used in the DVD project were muxed MPEG2s (DVD compliant).

If I were to use elementary streams (m2v's and ac3) instead, would I have this sync problem? I killed a DVD render job half-way and found it was demuxing the clips into one full length video file and a seperate full length ac3...

DV captured from camcorder (no other cams or decks to try, sorry) regular 60i footage and 48khz audio. The DV streams are in perfect sync...the muxed MPEG2s are synced, but when it goes to make a DVD out of it, bang!

I'm using Pinnacle Studio 9 (stop laughing)...no money left, so I'm stuck with it. MANY people have sync problems with it, but there are also a bunch who have no problems at all, and are doing more complex stuff with it than I am.

All I can say is try it. In theory there should be no difference, but this sounds like trouble in the authoring stage, so it's got to be Pinnacle. Thus, maybe using elementary streams will avoid problems.
