Can anyone help me out with a link(s) to B&H on the right frezzi mirofill or similar on board light(and anything else I would need with it) to get for my GL2 to use at wedding afterpartys. Any advice on this subject is appreciated, my ten watt light doesnt cut it anymore. I know im beating a dead horse here, but im having trouble getting the exact info I need on the search.

Get this if you're going to shoot close-up as you're getting a triple threat filter kit, soft, 5600k and barn doors. I found this to be a must for my wedding interviews.

Hope this helps you a little. FYI I love my Frezzi's, I have 2 (1 for each GL2) and I would also suggest the following battery pack if you use the cigarette lighter type plug in. I found these locally but they are a mail order outlet, 14ah unit will power the light for about 3.5 hours and even comes with an adapter for the GL2 (must specify when you order) which will power the cam for 17 hours (sans light) !!!

PS: While I got you on the line, what do you use for camera support (if any) during the ceremony and the reception? I sent out a message in the support your camera forum with a specific request that wedding folks respond to advise what they are using to help with the fatigue of a GL2 with light, and heavy battery and boom mic etc.

Wow, that was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for goin out of your way and taking the time to answer it so perfectly. Its much appreciated, I have a wedding on saturday, and have to order, and become familiar with it time. I use two GL2s at the wedding and afterparty. Two bogen universal video steel tripods(with 503 heads), and a varizoom shoulderpod for supports. Also, ill take a look at the DVrig. Thanks again.

I was made aware of these from a friend, I just emailed him about this post to see if he found out more, or if he had any input for this thread. One thing, take a close look at the price! Some people freak out about spending 300 bucks for a micro-fill or varalux, this bad boy is almost 800 bucks!

I want to buy a light like the Frezzolini MRFIC-12P 35-watt Dimmer Micro-Fill On-Camera Light - with Cigarette Connector (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=262858&is=REG), but I'm confused with all the choices for power connector:

1. NP-1
2. Power-tap
3. XLR-4 male
4. XLR-5 male
5. Cigarette plug
6. BP-90 socket
7. BP-90 plug

Which is best and why?

At this point I don't have any batteries.

None are best. It's pretty much a matter of what's appropriate for your specific needs. I think the 4-pin XLR is probably the most popular - meaning if you were to purchase a battery with a 4-pin XLR adapter and planned to purchase other accessories you'd probably have the easiest time finding something that uses a 4-pin power cable. But your power source should dictate the type of adapter.

I had this same question when we bought our Frezzi a couple of years ago. I asked the folks at B&H what the "best" connector was, and they said that if I didn't already know I should just get the XLR.
