Was just looking at some info on this device which will supposedly be available in the US next spring. It is (to my eyes) very attractive with its 16:9 screen and black case: http://www.digitalbackspin.com/adm/articlefiles/1142-PSPFACE.jpg
According to a press release (http://www.us.playstation.com/pressreleases.aspx?id=207) on Sony's website, that screen is 480x272 pixels with 16.7 million colors. They plan to release various media for it, presumably even movies and will use another new 1.8 GB mini-disk format that features "robust copy protection". Looks like it would be a nice little portable 16:9 monitor, but it isn't clear whether it could be used this way. It has USB 2 and w-fi connectivity.
