View Full Version : Remote for "push auto" button? Ronald Lee May 20th, 2004, 04:45 PM I like the push auto button and am wondering if there are any/how many lanc controllers have a remote button for it, along with the varibable zoom? anyone have any links? Boyd Ostroff May 20th, 2004, 07:04 PM Seems to me this was discussed in a couple threads (related to other cameras though) and there were conflicting stories of whether it's possible. Maybe somebody has a LANC controller that actually does this? I know that my Varizoom Pro-L does not, although it has manual focus up/down buttons. Ken Tanaka May 20th, 2004, 07:16 PM A recent thread in the XL1 area (http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24418), as Boyd recalled, but applicable here. Ronald Lee May 20th, 2004, 10:35 PM The Zoe DV Lanc has a working Push Auto? I want one!!! Arrghh, price tag is high!! Ken Tanaka May 20th, 2004, 11:29 PM See my review article (http://www.dvinfo.net/articles/camaccs/zoedvlanc.php) first. You'll want to first check to see if the function works with your camera if that's an important function for you. Ignacio Rodriguez May 23rd, 2004, 08:54 PM Yes. Quite expensive. I would pay almost that much though if it had a 'push auto expose' function. Anybody know of LANC controllers which can control exposure? Tom Hardwick May 30th, 2004, 08:10 AM Now that would be nice Ignacio. I want one. When I'm runnin and gunnin with my big L bracket my left hand is holding the upright part of the L and my right hand is inside the VX's strap, thumb on start/stop, index finger on zoom. If I need to tweak the exposure up or down by half a stop (the dreaded visible-on-screen half stop) I have to let go the L bracket and turn the dial ahead of the flip-out side screen (VX2k here), then go back to holding the L bracket. How nice it would be if my left hand could control thois exposure wheel remotely. Anyone know if the exposure wheel is under the LANC protocol? tom.
