Well thanks to the information that this site provides, I am now the new owner of an XL1s. After exhaustive research on getting the right camera, this place truly made the difference.

So Chris, thank you for providing such a great resource.

The camera was purchased for the production of a Triathlon documentary. Next May we will be producing a race in Galveston, Texas which we want to capture on tape. The goal was to get the camera with plenty of time to work with it prior to the big day. On the day of the event, we will be hiring additional camera operators to film the race. If all goes well (fingers crossed), we should have a decent documentary.

I hope y'all don't mind the zillions of questions that I am sure to be asking. My video experience is very limited, ok so I have none! I have learned a ton just by lurking on the DVinfo Community. Looking forward to learning more.

Regards,

Paul

Really glad to hear that you found our little community useful. Your triathalon project sounds very challenging and alot of fun! There's quite a Lone Star contingent around here (I think Chris holds cattle drives into this place) so you might very well find some help right here.

Keep us posted.

Ken/Rob,

Thank you for the warm welcome! I am looking forward to learn a bunch from y'all over the coming months.

Now if my Mac would just get here, life would be even better...

Hello Chris,

Thanks again for having me here. Have you ever considered getting the local/regional DVinfo members together? It would be great to meet fellow DV members.

Regards,

Paul
