I picked up my birthday present last week, a VDB boom pole and a K-Tec SSM shock mount.

I'm really impressed with this little mount, it is very well built and secures the schoeps and oktavas very well. The isolation is better than my AT8415.

I am looking to buy a new shotgun and did some reading on the subject of shockmounts and the Rucote windshield. it appears that the K-Tec K-SM, KSSM and the general purpose K-GPS will all work with the Rycote Windshield

It also seems that the older style windshield is being flogged out at $170 vs the $245 price of the new style.

Does anyone have any experience with the K-Tec and the Windshield

The VDB carbon fibre pole is light as a feather even with the coiled cable installed.

Do you have a link for the K-Tec SSM shock mount? Curious to see what it looks like.

It works out to $109 or 147 canadian

The general purpose looks good as well

PSC has some very simple but effective mounts as well. They are a lot cheaper .
