View Full Version : mp3 to .aif Grant McClintock May 14th, 2004, 08:11 AM Is there a program to convert mp3 to aif for Mac OSX? Thanks Grant Douglas Spotted Eagle May 14th, 2004, 08:14 AM Peak does this, Forge does this, most any editing app will do this. Heck, I think you can drop it into iTunes and do it there too, can't you? Grant McClintock May 14th, 2004, 08:52 AM Thanks Douglas-- I have converted mp3 in FCE to aif (48,000) but when I put the aif back in FCE the cut skips and pops. The only clean sound I have gotten is straight aif downloads which take forever on my slow connection. Grant J. Clayton Stansberry May 14th, 2004, 11:04 AM Spot, How do you do in iTunes? Doesn't iTunes convert it to ACC format? I've always wondered and never figured it out. Thanks! Clay P.S. Grant, there are several programs (shareware/freeware) that do this specific task...I'm on my PC at work...Mac is at home so I can't give you the exact programs...sorry. A google search should yeild some good results. Marco Leavitt May 14th, 2004, 11:16 AM Quicktime Pro does it too. It's pretty cheap. Matt Stahley May 14th, 2004, 12:31 PM In iTtunes - Preferences/Importing/Import using AIFF/ Setting - Custom 48k-16 bit - stereo. Add song to library and hit import and your done. Grant McClintock May 14th, 2004, 02:16 PM Thanks for the help. I got QuickTime Pro and it seems to be doing the job. Grant J. Clayton Stansberry May 14th, 2004, 08:37 PM Matt, Thanks! That's exactly what I needed. Clay Matt Stahley May 14th, 2004, 09:50 PM No problem. I usually use quicktime pro for this as well but iTunes is free and it does the job. |
