Thanks Boyd Ostroff May 6th, 2004, 08:08 AM Sure, just about any camera will do this AFAIK. You can output either via RCA or S-video. Note that the PDX-10 uses a special 1/8" miniplug which breaks out into 3 male RCA plugs for video, left and right audio. The cable is included with the camera but might be hard to find otherwise (although I think other small camcorders use something similar). I guess the problem is that there wouldn't be room for full size female RCA outlets. The s-video uses a standard mini DIN connector. Juan Parra May 6th, 2004, 09:21 AM Boyd, thanks for your prompt response! I read the manual, and it was not clear that it could be done. Excuse my ignorance but what's AFAIK? Cheers Jeff Toogood May 6th, 2004, 09:55 AM AFAIK = As far as I know Juan Parra May 6th, 2004, 10:14 AM Oops. Silly me :-) Then can anybody confirm by personal experience that this is true? Boyd Ostroff May 6th, 2004, 11:34 AM I can confirm that the PDX-10 does this. The AFAIK disclaimer was in reference to my statement that "just about any camera can do this". Love Mov May 6th, 2004, 06:13 PM Yes, this is true...actually, even my old $500 dv cam does this pretty good.. <<<-- Originally posted by Juan Parra : Oops. I do it all the time, Juan. And you can also go the other way, use the PDX10 to capture video coming from a VHS Deck or a Hi8 camcorder. Some programs (FCP4) are not very happy capturing video without timecode though so you might have to use HackTV. I have relatives in Vancouver. Jorge Montesi, heard of him? Juan Parra May 12th, 2004, 01:38 PM hey ignacio no, i don't know him. is he in the movie business? Ignacio Rodriguez May 12th, 2004, 10:38 PM Oh sure. But mostly his work has been in TV series shot in film like Night Heat, NYPD Blue, Friday 13th and other stuff like that. He likes to direct while operating second camera and also acts and produces sometimes: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0599624/ |
