I'm sure this has been asked countless times before, but what are the major differences between the two cameras?

Thanks for your time

Trevor

Major differences:

XLR audio inputs module on PDX10
14-bit video processing in PDX10
Included large hood with PDX10
DVCAM recording with PDX10
Better 16:9 mode PDX10

Built in flash on '950
Bluetooth and IP on '950 (I think)

Wow, really? The 950 doesn't have the 14-bit video processing? That seems like a significant difference.

Some other PDX-10 features for your list:

BW hi res viewfinder
settable timecode and user bits
choice of 0 or 7.5 IRE setup
separate volume control of each stereo channel
black finish

Ha! That is not real setup. It DIGITALLY records with a fake added luma. Very weird.

950 has bluetooth (nice feature, at least to me)

Does that allow you live stream an image to a web server using a bluetooth equipped cell phone? Even if it's a still image, great for mobile webcasting of events as they happen...

Hi,

The 950 has 14-bit DXP. Most Sony Megapixels camcorder has this chip.

Not that I don't beleive you but where did you get that info from? I searched and searched and found nothing.

Ignacio,

Go to the Sony Website.

Look up the TRV-950. Click on specs. Then, download the .pdf file with the specs.

It is noted in the .pdf file that the image processing is 14Bit.

Cool. Thanks. Stupidly I never thought of checking the TRV-950 manual!

Ignacio,

I think the info is pretty obscure.

Plus, at least you did not receive your camcorder and then think the headphones were broken for a week because the volume output to them was turned all the way down....um...like some others on this forum....;-)
