OK, I can budget one of these two items, and I figure I should becuase my mic always seems to pick up my hand toutching the camera or something...
So...
They are both in the same price range (ie. twice as much as they should be <g>) which one should I buy?
The system isolator dampens vibrations to both the stock mic mount and the shoe mount, whereas the mini-mount only works for the mic mount.
My Sennheiser MKE 300 won't fit on the mic mount, only the shoe mount, which makes the SI a better choice.
But then again, I don't like how far forward the SI moves the veiwfinder.
Do they both work just as well?
Also, I've seen the mini-mount for $130, what should I expect to pay for the system isolator? I've got a price quote for $170, is this reasonable?
Also, wind screens/wind socks for mics. I know lightwave is great, but does anyone make a moderately priced one? I don't have $400cdn to spend for one for my Sennheiser.
Got to go buy it Friday, so your advice is much appreciated.
