I looked at the auction. I'm not familliar with that brand. Hopefully someone can give you feedback on it.
I just wanted to point out that it isn't really specificaly for the XL1, it just has 72mm threads.

Also it is a 0.5 wide angle. You might get some distortion with that. Hopefully someone here has used something that wide and provide some technical feedback.

The auction says exchanges only, no refunds, so if it sucks, I think you might be out of luck. Bid wisely. Century Optics adapters aren't really that much more money for a quality name brand.

I've recently purchased this lens; a few thoughts...

- doesn't fit XL1s with the lens hood on.
- claims to be 0.5x, I've used a 0.7x that was noticably wider.
- noticable vignetting, but mostly outside the action safe area.
- full zoom through.

Not very impressed with this adapter.

I've also purchased this lens after posting. I liked the results I got with it. I have an XL1; was shooting a local spot and segments for tv show; using frame mode and lens attached, i got some really nice soft/film like images. background was soft out of focus and made the images look real nice.

Did you find a substancial increase in field of view? This is my main complaint with this adapter.
