View Full Version : Teaser a la Shanghai Ian Lim August 5th, 2009, 11:21 PM Link: Vany & Victor - Teaser on Vimeo (http://vimeo.com/5969012) Would love to hear any comments/thoughts etc. Thanks! :D Richard Wakefield August 6th, 2009, 02:05 AM i loved it. what a great colour look, and feel to it and again, great directing. now please tell me what the symbols translate to at the end!!!! :) Matt Barwick August 6th, 2009, 03:18 AM Beautiful work Ian - love the look that the colouring gave it. Cheers, Matt. Susanto Widjaja August 6th, 2009, 03:53 AM great cinematography. I think the film grain/damage effect sort of ruining it though.. I think it will look better without it. the girl is perfect with this concept! she's just got that "look". make-up also supports it really well. all in all, I'm impressed.. well done! Kuswendy Yasukin August 6th, 2009, 04:42 AM Ian, I'm definitely loving this one :) you got the mood and color right ... I'm attached to the story till the end. Well Done, Kuswendy Mike Calla August 6th, 2009, 06:33 AM Ian, I'm living in Shanghai...don't change a thing...it's perfect!! :) Noel Lising August 6th, 2009, 07:46 AM Excellent. Except for the color, the mood was like from the Movie " Love, Lust..." can't recall the title now. Great work Ian. John De Rienzo August 6th, 2009, 01:13 PM Lovely work Ian. Don't change a thing! Cheers. Ian Lim August 7th, 2009, 06:25 AM Thanks for the comments, guys! All credits should go to Elvira, my wife (a.k.a. the director). She directed everything from costumes, body movement/gestures, style, etc. I'm not a big fan of film grain/damages, but I'm using it anyway to match the 'vintage-feel' of the song and the style. The storyline is a bit 'cheesy' because we intended to....that's the way oldies movies are, right? :D @Richard: The (chinese) symbols means 'Soon'.... btw I can't write anything in Chinese actually (although I'm a Chinese)...hehe.. Again, thanks for watching! :D Mike Calla August 20th, 2009, 10:02 AM My future wife is Shanghainese and loved it... i think you just got hired:) |
