Ok so in the next week or so I am purchasing an FX7.
There is not really a specific cover for this.
I need the cover mostly to keep dirt, paint, maybe rain off of the camera.
So I have been looking at rain covers this is what ive found so far...
2 Porta Braces and a Petrol

I would think the RS-V1 would be the best; it'll be a bit big as it's designed to accommodate the XLR block from the V1 which the FX7 lacks, but otherwise should fit well. I've been using my RS-2100 on my FX7s and it's a very tight fit to get it on the FX7 because the eyepiece is slightly different from the cam the 2100 was designed for. You have to actually remove the eyepiece from the cam (easy) to get the cover on (if you want the mic/handle/eyepiece bar to be above the body of the case but below the rain fly), then replace it once it's secure. But overall it's a good size.

I would think anything made for the FX1 would be way too big. Note that the Petrol cover is meant for the FX1 or Z1, not V1.

This is personal preference only - but I had a slicker for my VX2100 and I HATED it, it just got in the way of me using the camera. Maybe it was my fat fingers or something, but I just found it very awkward to use the camera when everything was hidden away.

For my V1, I went for a Kata Raincover, it slips on and off very easily - and it's a bit cheaper I think, and it would be perfect for a camera liable to get splattered by paintballs.

Your mileage my vary! As I said, that's just my opinion.

agree with mike above - kata - cheap and very effective.........

The Kata also comes with a sort of sleeve thing that velcros on and off, it gives you a sort of "tunnel" that you slip your hands up through if you are hand-holding. More about it on the Kata site:

I think I might go with the second choice on the first post...

I have several Porta-Brace rain slickers and they are very well made, plus PB's customer service is second to none...

Sounds good ill keep this updated once the moneys cleared and I purchase and once it comes in ill give a final result...
Any more feedback that can keep coming would still help though.
