Hi,

Before I drop the $$, I was just wondering if these two items are a good match:

AT-822 (http://www.at822.com/)

Specs:

7.76" (197.0 mm) long,
2.44" (62.0 mm) maximum head width,
0.83" (21.0 mm) body diameter

Used in conjunction with:

RØDE PG2 Pistol Grip Shock Mount (http://uk.rodemic.com/accessory.php?product=pg2)

It supports microphones with a diameter of 19-20mm or 21-22.5mm using the supplied interchangeable mounts

Seems like it should work... Do you see anything wrong with the above combo (I already own the mic)?

Thanks!
M

It seems like it should work. If the mic is too narrow, just wrap it with some gaff tape, and it should fit snugly in the mount.

Micky, I have both items and the AT822 is a very tight fit in the 21/22mm PG2 suspensions. It won't fit the 19/20mm. Carefully align the mics stereo head with the handle.

After each session I'd remove the AT822 to prevent distorting the suspensions.

Cheers.

Hi Allan! Many thanks for you reply, I really appreciate the help. :)

I am glad to hear that the two work together. Thanks for the handling tips.

I was out the other day with the AT-822/R-09HR and I am loving the quality of sound... My only complaint is that my hand bones/joints were audible. I am hoping the PG2 helps alleviate some of those unwanted noises.

Thanks again Allan and Edward, I owe you guys one. :D

Have a great day,
Cheers,
Micky
