I have an HF s100 and recently had no trouble uploading to youtube. But, trying to view it was entirely different. I have no problem at all on my comp viewing other people's HD vids. So the comp is not the problem. I shot the vid at pf30---is this the problem when viewing? The standard for the camera is 60i. The audio was choppy as well.

What are you exporting to and what program are you using? I record in 60i personally but I would think your problem is more related to your export settings. I export as MPEG2-1080p HDTV 1920x1080 (premiere pro preset)

Works good on youtube or for going to regular DVD.

Yeah it might simply have been uploaded using too high of a compression rate.. it's good to find a balance between high quality and quick playing video on Youtube

I normally convert the footage on the way in from Hf s100 with voltaichd to avi, import the avi to premiere pro to edit then export using settings for optimized youtube hd i found on google (using a main concept hd encoder).. seems to work fine, i shoot at 24p

I know i used the highest possible settings for this video i uploaded. Someone told me to reduce it to 720p. How would i go about doing this? I prolly need another program yet as well, right?

I just pulled the video i slapped together out of the pixela editor to my desktop then downloaded it to youtube.

Yeah you could google some free video compressors, I compressed it using a copy of Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 with the Main Concept hd encoder plugin

In Premiere I export as 1080P N.264 but scale it to 1280x720 at 8Mbps if it's for Vimeo. It makes a file about 1/3 the size of the original MTS file. I assume the same would work for You Tube.

I have Adobe premier elements. So, i just move the vid into there and render the vid into another setting?

Yeah import the video, do any edits you may want, then go to File> export and use the Adobe media encoder, it should have different settings to choose from
