Dear all,

Is it possible to convert a cigarette lighter plugged on board camera light to d-tap so that it can be powered directly from the camera battery?

Are you aware of any cable or adapter that can make this possible?

Thanks a lot,
Chris

I made a cable that went from D tap to cig adapter. Here are the parts I used.
Female D tap connector (from B&H-about $25.00) a short 14 gauge extension cord (household type). I cut the female plug off the cord and soldered the wires into the connections on the D tap. Gottasqueeze it tight for the other side to fit right. Took the cig adapter that had female recepticles for standard plug from extension cord and BAM!
I made this connection for my Anton Bauer Ultralight so I could power it off my Bescor battery paks that have cig adaptor plugs. Actually I made 2 - I thought I lost the one I made and after I made the 2nd one naturally I found the first. Oh well, it's good to have backup.
It's really a pretty simple "fix" to do what you want. Bescor sells the female cig type receptical so the male cig plug you have will plug to that, get the proper D tap you need from B&H and an extension cord. A little cutting, a little solder and you're good to go.
