Hi,

Can someone please give me some advice on what I should do with my old Cineform HDV AVI files? In particular, should I keep them in this old/discontinued format, or should I use HD Link to convert them to Cineform HD AVI files (or some other format)?

My concerns are
- If I do convert to Cineform HD, will it be virtually lossless? Or not.
- If I don't convert, what I end up with old Cinform HDV AVI files that won't be supported by future versions of Vegas, etc?

Thanks,
Terry.

If they are CineForm file they are not discountinued. Why the codec has grown over the years, the same core code is still used. Why do you feel the need to "upgrade" them?

Perhaps I'm asking out of ignorance. I've read that Neo HDV has been discountinued, but I don't know what that means for my old Neo HDV AVI files.

Keep in mind that I've thrown my original M2T files away. These AVI files are now my originals. So future support is very important.

Neo HDV was replaced with Neo HD and Neo Scene. The codec hasn't changed as much as the conversion tools, remember Neo was never just a codec.
