I've been out of the editing business for a while and am now starting again. I've got Aspect HD and Premier Pro 2.0. In trying to add to some existing projects on my new Vista machine, I find I cannot render anything - various errors including Adobe Media Error and simply stopping for Cineform AVI output.

If I upgrade to CS4, will I also have to upgrade to Prospect HD? If so, what guarantee is there that my old projects will still work?

Thanks as always,
Wayne

Try it. Download both CS4 and PHD and us those free trial times to determine if there are issues -- and there shouldn't be.

That would be a great plan were it not for the fact that the trial version of CS4 does not support HDV.

Oops, I just realized that with Prospect HD it might support CINEFORM HDV and output Cineform M2T and AVI files. Would this be the case? (Remember, my problem is rendering, so I need output in some kind of ready-for-Blu-Ray form.) Regards.

Yes, Adobe limits the codec they license in the trial, still you can use the trial to read CineForm AVI export to other others to prove it works then invest in the new tools.
