I want to upgrade the mic on my Sennheiser wireless. After reviewing audio clips on Ken Stone's website, I've decided to go with the Tram TR50. I'm trying to decide if a gray lavaliere would be less visually intrusive than a black one. Does anyone have experience with the Tram TR50 gray lavalier? A lot depends on how bright the gray is which is impossible to tell from a photograph.

Hi Brett:
I wrote that article and I own two of the Trams. Both of mine are black. I guess gray would be okay as well but I have never used gray Trams so I cannot tell you how dark or light it is. To me, gray would only blend well with blues, grays and purples, any other colors and to my eye, it would seem possibly more visually obtrusive than black. Just my .02 worth. Great mics, you will enjoy them.

The black color is the most popular all around. I used to have two pure white Trams, but they were exclusively for a cooking show where the chef's wore traditional white outfits.

Great article. You deserve kudos for that. It was pretty easy for me to narrow down my choice. The Tram, Sanken, Sonotrim and VT500 all sounded good to me. But availability and cost led me to the Tram.
