Does anyone know a way to increase the dynamic range of the video with a Z7? It seems that there is very little between good proper exposure and hotspots- and that they only way to prevent hotspots is to under expose.

Using the ND filters tends to flatten out these sorts of problems.

Also go into the Picture-Profiles, you can play around with the lows-mids-highs and even the colors in there to tweak the look you're looking for.

It is if you are a paying advertiser and help fund the operation of this forum. Vortex Media is a DVInfo.net sponsor.
I'd say about 90% of the questions on this forum (plus more) are answered in Vortex Media's training DVD, so taking a moment to remind people about the video IS offering advice.

I have used the Vortex video and I have found it useful and worth the time spent in viewing it. I am not comfortable with someone advertising, but in this case I would say that the information provided in the video is really good advice from someone who has used the camera.
