For about 5 years now I've been shooting with the Panasonic AG-DVC200 (see it here: DVC200YH19A Panasonic AG-DVC200 Professional DV Camcorder. Pro Shooter Kit with 1/2" IT 3-CCD, Canon 19x Lens, AGVF5 1.5" B&W Viewfinder, Anton Bauer UL2S Ultralite, ABP170 AC Adapter/Charger and 1 Trip Pack 14 Battery, 10 186 Tapes, Kata Survivor Ca (http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?op=detailsdisc&sku=PCDVC200YH19))

I have loved this camera to death, but it's getting older and I feel like it's time to go HD. I've considered the Canon 5DMKII but because of all the camera flashes that go off at a wedding reception I don't know if the rolling shutter issue makes this camera the right choice for weddings....or at least receptions (?)

So can anybody recommend some different options for me? I love the shoulder mount of this camera and the ENG style viewfinder and detachable lens....I DON'T like all these cameras like the Canon XH-A1 with their fixed lenses. I also own a Sony VX2100 and I hate it.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

I went with the HPX-500.

Seemed like the only option as I own the DVC-200 and wish it was 16:9 so I wouldn't have had to upgrade.

I prefer the larger cameras as well.

The HPX-500 looks awesome, but I don't think I can come up with that kind of $$ :)

anybody else?

What about the JVC GY-HM700 (or similar) models?

How about this one ? It's brand new and just hitting the market now.

Panasonic AG-HPX300 : about $8,000 with lens at B&H Photo
