Bought an MTF nikon lens mount for my EX-3. For starters I put on my sigma 18 - 200 g mount lens. It isn't suitable for video. Focus is too jumpy when not on the D-50.

So I'm looking for suggestions for a tele.

It doesn't have to be nikon brand, but it does have to cut well with my 2 EX-3 fujinon lenses. I'd like something around 100 - 300 range. I'd like some zoom capability altho I'll mostly use it at fixed focal lengths. Faster iris is always a plus. And budget is always a concern.

Thanks for your input

Sigma do a 100-300 f4 which is supposed to be good. Nikon do a 80-200 f2.8 ED which is reasonably priced and has macro - this is the one I've just bought but haven't had a chance to test it yet...still waiting from my tripod.

I would consider the Nikon 50-300 f4.5 manual focus, ED. I got one which was probably faulty but tried another copy on my EX3 and it looks nice and sharp. The Nikon 80-200 f2.8 is a decent one which I use. Haven't tried the Nikon 80-400 but I think it is worth trying although it is not a fixed aperture.

The Nikon 80-200 2.8 is a fabulous lens. Very sharp.
The 50 - 300 is a legendary old one but pretty heavy piece of glass as well as slower.
