I am looking for a good royalty free music site. Something that doesn't have music that sounds like it was produced for corporate video in the 90s.

Any tips?

Try FreePlay Music or Digital Juice as a starting point.

I didn't really know where to put it. "All Things Audio" seemed to be mostly about microphones from a glance. I then had to choose between Mac and PC. As a Mac, I thought I would ask my people. :)

Until the Mods move this to the appropriate place, allow me to chime in with:

If looking at Digital Juice, look SPECIFICALLY at the StackTraxx line. At first listen they may sound very MIDI-ish but if you delete the "offending" track (usually the percussion), you can get some great tracks for CHEAP!

The SmartSound tracks used with SonicFire Pro are fabulous. http://www.smartsound.com/ There is a very neat FCP plugin & you can magically adjust the music to suit the time required. We use this for many of our videos. Check out these for some examples of the wide variety of different styles.

For commercial editing, I use De Wolfe Music and have been happy with it. They have a huge library of every genre and are constantly creating stuff in the styles that are current.
