Why is it that when I generate a Cineform Intermediate via a 3rd party tool like TmpGenc, the reulting Cineform DI cannot be read by Firstlight? If I transcode the CF DI that failed thru HDlink to make a second CF DI, FirstLight will read the second file OK?

Bill... are you running Windows 7/CS4?
I've noticed that with clips that are disagreeable (green flashes), if I run them through HD Link, with no modification (merely outputting a fresh clip), they then behave.
I've posted one of the pesky clips to Cineform for autopsy.... waiting for the results.

Bill,
Use ftp://ftp.cineform.com/pub/incoming via an standard windfow file explorer window, drag a sample file from TmpGenc (that doesn't work in FL) into that window, no ftp client required.
Marty,
Your spectulation is not related. Different issues. I bet Bill's TmpGenc files work fine in Premiere.

Thanx, David. Will do.
Marty...
Anyway, no. Windows7 is an experimental OS for me. All my production work still goes onto WinXP SP3.

Right you are David, now that we pinned it down to an out-dated codec.
Keep us posted Bill... FYI, Windows 7 has been a pleasant update from XP.
