Does anybody can help me about recording WITHOUT tape on the camera with the DR-HD100 ? off course, triggering recording with the camera controls... is it possible ???

I actually prefer to do this. You must use the correct sync/trigger settings on both the camera and the firestore. The only downside with recording without tape is that the camera does not embed timecode in the HDV stream via firewire when there is no tape in the drive. This is a major pain that you'll need to workaround. I'm not sure why they omitted the timecode in the HDV stream when there is no tape. Since the timecode clearly advances in the viewfinder properly. |
