Extra cartridges should have a street price around $400. The other brand might be slow, but the Sony has 10X transfer speed from the card to the drive, and you can connect the unit to your computer via eSATA or USB. By specs, the Nexto appears faster. Each lists a different measurement method. Let me know if I'm wrong: Sony PXU-MS240: "Estimated up to 10X Real Time" 16GB = 1hr real time (approx.) decreased 10x = 6 minutes Nexto NVS2500: 80MB/s = 4.8GB/min = 16GB @ 3.33 minutes Points to consider: Nexto max supported fixed 200GB drive, reported 500GB. It is verrrry slow because it connects to the camera via USB and doesn't read the cards directly. The Nexto 2500 has slots for SxS cards. Pete Going by the model numbers, strange that the 2500 is specd faster than the 2725. |
