I have been wanting to shoot some stock footage, but dont know which frame rate would be best. I normally use 24f, but if selling stock footage, many users like to slow down the footage, so im gearing more towards 60i.

Im using the XHA1s.
Any suggestions?

In North America, for standard definition, 60 fields per second interlaced (60i) is the broadcast standard. (It's the same frame rate as 30fps, but a very different signal as its captured and transmitted one field at a time)

For high def broadcast, it's either 1080i (60 fields per second interlaced), or 720p (60 frames per second progressive). 1080p is only in its infancy as a "broadcast" format (although its very common on blu-ray and other technologies)

In what physical format is HD Broadcast quality provided to a tv station. I am wondering if you were going to shoot HD B-roll for later use on tv, not only what settings would you use to capture it, but if you edited it, what would be the best format to preserve it or be able to provide to a broadcast distributor ?

I shoot stock and depending on subject shot both 25F and 50i, I export the files as either MJPEB B or PhotoJpeg respectively at 1920x1080. They are big files but look great...I have had pretty good success with both formats.
