Hi all, I just received my new HMC150 today, and so far am LOVING it. One question I had was with regards to a sound that I hear when the camera is powered down. If the camera is gently tilted from front to back, or vice versa, it makes a light clunk sound, as if a part is loose inside. However, once the camera is powered on, the sound doesn't happen when repeating the same motion. It almost makes me feel like this is a design feature where the servo for the zoom ring is engaged once the camera is on, but pulled back when power is off to prevent damage to the motor...then again, I could just be talking out of my...anyway, any help is appreciated. I just didn't know if this was a normal sound or not. Happy shooting!

You may want to try the search function - I believe this topic has been covered - it is normal and associated with the OIS system if I remember correctly.

Yup, that's just the OIS mechanism sliding back and forth. Perfectly normal.

For some strange reason, all the pansonic pro-semipro cameras in the DVX mode have this. It is part of the deal, and nothing to worry about, but I'll admit the first time I heard it, I freaked. Such is life.
