If I right click on the nested project sequence and choose "Edit in Vegas", and part of the edit is to change the length, and after it is saved and closed, is there some way to have Vegas auto ripple accordingly in the project to which it is nested?

Yes and No. Vegas doesn't change the length of the event just because you changed the length of the nested project. Instead it loops the media in the event. If you have Ripple Edit turned on, then just adjust the event to match the new length of the nested project and ripple edit will take place. If you are asking if Vegas can do this automatically, the answer is no. This is consistent with the same behavior when you edit an audio event in Sound Forge and change the length. The length of an event and the length of the media have always been independent of each other.

Thank you John for taking the time to reply.

Is this an industry standard way to handle nested timeline or project event modifications in length? Adobe, FCP, Avid handle the same way? Maybe it's just my limited knowledge and understanding to NLE as I"m just a hobbiest to NLE, but it would seem more logical to provide a setting or button to turn "nested auto ripples" on and off.
