Does DVINFO have a presence on TWITTER?
View Full Version : Does DVINFO have a presence on TWITTER? G. Lee Gordon June 26th, 2009, 04:23 PM Does DVINFO have a presence on TWITTER? Chris Hurd June 26th, 2009, 04:41 PM Yes and no. Yes it's there. No it's not being used just yet. Tony Davies-Patrick June 29th, 2009, 06:51 AM Twitter would certainly bring a lot of extra traffic to DVinfo. I've just checked and see that there is a DVInfo (dvinfo) on Twitter (http://twitter.com/dvinfo) so I'm now following (from CARPWORLD) DVinfo as well as your own Twitter at Chris Hurd (Chris_Hurd) on Twitter (http://twitter.com/Chris_Hurd) and will keep my eyes peeled for future DVinfo information and updates. Chris Hurd June 29th, 2009, 07:02 AM Thanks Tony; we're planning to fire it up and get it rolling very soon. Chris Soucy July 1st, 2009, 12:48 AM I just signed up for it - it's a cross between Dante's Inferno and Bedlam mixed with a bit of hyperactive thyroid and megalomania thrown in for good measure! The next "big thing"? Geez, the sanity of DVinfo was a welcome release. I won't be going back in a hurry. What a load of utter *******, boy, people must be desperate! Update: I have now de - registered from Twitter due to getting hassled by some deranged God squader I've never heard of who is supposedly following my every word - strange, I haven't written any. What is the world coming to? CS Robert Martens July 1st, 2009, 10:51 AM I've managed to avoid signing up for Twitter 'til now, but a DVi account might make me change my mind. Hell, I've got no friends and nothing worthwhile to say, I'd fit right in with the rest of those Twits! Chris (Soucy), you sound like you'd get a kick out of Tweeting Too Hard (http://tweetingtoohard.com/). Only heard about it a couple of weeks ago, it's absolutely fascinating. Karel Bata August 14th, 2009, 07:36 AM I finally took the plunge. The visits to my page Alternatives to YouTube? (http://kareltests.co.uk) have shot up into the hundreds per day. All it took was a few folk with thousands of 'followers' to recommend it. Basically you have to have something other people will pass on, find the people who are likely to recommend you, and send them a 'tweet'. Here's another I've started: Film and Video tips on Twitter (http://twitter.com/KarelsTweets) my page "offering occasional links to any useful film industry news or tips that comes my way" go on, follow me. While you're there visit this guy Sick Fantasy (http://twitter.com/sickfantasy) He's got one follower. James Wong August 14th, 2009, 11:58 PM While you're there visit this guy Sick Fantasy (http://twitter.com/sickfantasy) He's got one follower. Haha! I signed up for Twitter a few years ago, and became more active about a year ago. I generally follow friends I know as well as things like "deal of the day" feeds from certain sites (or the trailers twitter at Apple/Quicktime, for example). Essentially I see it as an accessible RSS feed with friends, just brief. It's actually come in handy a few times, too. Jenn Kramer September 12th, 2009, 02:52 PM We've started posting a bit more actively to our twitter feed: DVInfo (DVinfo) on Twitter (http://twitter.com/DVinfo) We'll probably call out exceptional posts here on the forum, industry news, and general shout-outs. It may take us a little while to get up to speed, but we're getting there! Lorinda Norton September 16th, 2009, 01:37 PM You're doing more than "getting there," Jenn. It's great! Thanks for all the links you've been finding--mostly things I would never see left on my own, and quite interesting. Bob Thompson September 19th, 2009, 05:53 PM Fantastic Tweet on gun safety on film sets. Congratulations on the twitter site Bob |
