So strange, it seems like some people will never die...May they find peace.

This was a shock.
In terms of a video connection, I will remember him best for Thriller (the video transformation scared me
as a kid) and for his song from Ben.

No matter what people think of MJ he was a legendary icon that will be missed. The world definitely feels a little empty today with his passing.

MJ should be remembered as a world-class master of music and dance.
The wonderful thing about recording media is that his legacy within that
particular realm will live on indefinitely and will continue to be enjoyed
and appreciated by millions of people.

It's funny - I was "too cool" for MJ back when I was in school because I thought he was bubble gum pop crap... then I LISTENED to Thriller et al for the first time. Shredding guitars, powerful synths... Rethought a LOT of my preconceptions about pop music after that.
Yes, he may have been an odd fellow but his contributions to music in the 20th century are legendary and will live on.

I know this won't interest most of the Americans here, but in Belgium a pretty famous and very young (37 years old) show host and singer, Yasmine (real name was Hilde Rens) died at the same day. She apparently was depressed and killed herself...
So in Belgium it's like 3 famous people in one day, really strange feeling...
