This is quite annoying, I'm getting new keyframes when color correcting because I sometimes will shuttle through the scene and then resume color correcting and getting keyframes. How can I turn off keyframing while ccing? Thanks.

Unselect the sync curser.

This is one of those options that I ALWAYS leave turned off! Yes, it has it's uses and, in those cases, I turn it on. But for 99% of my usage, I prefer it off. I always want it on the first keyframe when I open the effect box.

Same here - by default Sync Cursor is always off. In fact, the only time I ever turn it on is when I want to quickly find the 'now' time on the fx (or track motion, pan/crop etc) timeline.
Actually, the only other occasion I use Sync Cursor is if I want to lay 'proxy' keyframes in real time (ie, changing a value as I play through the clip just to create the keyframe at the desired point, then go back and tweak). Thinking about it, I can only recall one occasion when I've done that.
I'm curious to know if there are any other situations where Sync Cursor is useful. I can't think of any!
