I am looking at these two Monitors that both sell for $449 at B&H
JVC TM-H1375SU and Sony PVM-14L1
However this will be my first monitor purchase and I am not sure which one would be better.
Anybody have any thoughts on these two models? or anything else in the same price range?
Thank You

Well Chris, it seems we have the same problem ....
Three days ago I asked for PAL monitor recommendation, but no answers .
I almost decided to buy Sony PVM 14N6E, but now have to look also for some JVC models, and to find some comparison between Sony and JVC.
If I find out something , I`ll let you know.

We use all Sony monitors now, but I did have two JVC high end monitors a few years ago. I found the image quality to be equal to the Sonys, but the JVCs were very picky about adjustments. They seemed to need tweaking more than Sony, and everytime I moved the portable one, it had to be retweaked. However, that's been a few years ago, and the newer ones are probably better.

I think the difference would be very minimal and if one is cheaper go with that one. I'd go with the Sony if it wasn't that much more only because I've come to trust their brand over the last couple of years.

I had to make the same decision a couple of years ago. In the end I went for the JVC because, to my eyes, they looked the same. This, together with JVC's lower price, made it for me. I have had no problems in two years, using it every day.

The TM-1750PN-S.
17 inch, 4:3/16:9 switchable (16:9 is letterboxed); blue gun for adjustments; composite, Y/C, and RGB and YUV component in; underscan.
I think the replacement now is the TM-H1700G.
