Does any of the XDCAM decks output realtime video from Premiere Pro and after effects similar to the DV tape decks?

Paul Gale June 10th, 2009, 02:27 AM Do you mean can they record live from Premiere or AE? The U1 doesn't allow this - it's only a USB transfer device. I think the other (more expensive) decks allow recording in this way though. Thierry Humeau June 10th, 2009, 06:55 AM PDW-1500, PDW-V1, PDW-F70, PDW-F75 can output a DV stream through the firewire port. On the PDW-F70/F75, that is one way to get a downconverted output when playing a XDCAM HD disc. Note that the firewire port on these machines can operate in two different modes, FAM (File Access Mode) for files transfers and AV/C for DV25 streaming. You would want to make sure the i.Link mode on the deck is properly set to AV/C mode in order to capture the DV stream out of the deck. Thierry. |
