I'm a P2 rookie.
I have a Mac Powerbook running 10.5.6 with 2 Gigs of RAM. It has a built in P2 Card reader slot.
In Final Cut Pro I try to import "Panasonic P2..." and it crashes Final Cut Pro.
I have installed the P2 Drivers form the Panasonic website.
Any ideas?
Thanks for your time,
Sam

Try repairing disk permissions with Disk Utility. You also might want to trash Final Cut Preferences but I would wait on that. Also Make up a new User and see if the problem is with the User. Good luck

Are you trying to import directly from the P2 cards? If so, try transferring the cards manually to a drive, then try importing from the drive.

What ver of FCP are you using?
I have a 301 camera and have imported via USB to FCP on the i-mac with no problems.
Is the PCMIA slot 16 bit capable and compatible with P2 cards I know that some are not. I have had to buy the duel adaptor for my macbook pro as some of the cheaper ones on e-bay will not work, it may be that your laptop has one of these incompatible card slots.
I presume you are using log and transfer and as I said on 10.5.7 with FCP ver 6.0.5 and it see the P2 card whilst in the camera OK
