As many of my fellow Adobe users, I am eagerly awaiting the big 4.1 update. Any news?

Had it installed for a short while. A quick play reveals:

1) lots of new AVCHD presets

2) The timewarp effect works (doesnt turn the applied clip back)

3) My Core 2 Duo 2.4 seems to play a AVCHD clip (1080/30p) for longer (a few seconds) before grinding to a stuttering halt.

I am out of town on a shoot, so am very interested in any additional feedback.

My two main interests in the new update are:

1. New Red workability as we shoot projects regularly on the RED. I like the current ability to work with the RED files without transcode, but this update is supposed to make it easier.

2. We shoot a fair amount of Panasonic footage with the AVC-Intra 100 codec. I had read that at NAB Adobe was showing the update working with AVC-Intra 100 natively. Has anyone tested this?

There's no AVC-Intra support in this release. I was told, and shown, that too at NAB, but I guess it must not be ready yet.

I was told that, but after upgrading there is a drop down box that has avc-intra as a file type option. That said, I could only find one file on the net, which brought up a file may be damage/wrong format message - so I don't know?

So bummed about the apparent lack of AVC-Intra support in the 4.1 update. I will double check in the morning, but I am fairly certain Jan from Panasonic confirmed this on another industry blog.

Here is to hoping that the AVC-Intra update will happen sometime soon as they were using it at NAB. Please Adobe.

If there are any Adobe guys reading this thread, would you mind commenting?

I can confirm that despite the drop down menus detailing different avc-intra file formats - it doesn't work. Checked on some net files AND the ones Jan sent me.

I can live with NO avc-intra, but letting you think it's there but not working wastes so much time.

I've been testing in my laptop and is all good news. Now it has a performance that generally matchs (and in some aspects outperforms) Cs3.

Now we're talking :)
