I recently purchased a z5u and I am having problems with capturing into Final Cut Pro 6. My Macbook Pro recognizes my z5u, but when I open Final Cut Pro it says that it isn't there. Any help? Thanks.

Zach Love May 24th, 2009, 11:26 PM Try going to "Easy Setup" and choosing "1080 HDV" that should get FCP into the right mindset to see the Z5. It 'should' be just that easy. Let us know how it goes. Nick Meyer May 25th, 2009, 03:36 PM Thanks! I got it to working using "HDV - 1080i60 Firewire Basic". I had it on "DVCPRO HD..." and that wasn't working. If I shot in 1080p30, will the "HDV - 1080i60 Firewire Basic" be ok to use for my capture preset as long as I edit in that specific sequence setting? Or is there another capture preset I should be using? Thanks again. Zach Love May 25th, 2009, 08:25 PM Glad I could help! I keep FCP in HDV 1080i and have had no problems shooting 1080i60, 1080p30, or 1080p24 with my Z7. As long as FCP can see your camera, it usually figures out the interlaced / progressive and frame rates from there. But someone please correct me if I'm wrong. If you shoot something in SD with the Z5 you'll have to change the Easy Setup, or if you use a HVX, then you'll want to go back to DVCPro, etc. etc. etc. Nick Meyer May 28th, 2009, 10:09 AM Ok...thanks again for the help. |
