I bought a HMC150 yesterday, and have been trying to download footage from the card using the built-in card reader on my Dell monitor, but the PC is freezing up when I click on the drive icon.

Is a special card reader needed? Is special software needed? I've looked through the manual but am not finding anything.

Also, is there a best 16 or 32 GB card to purchase? I bought two 16GB class 6 cards from microcenter, as that is all they had. Is there faster availalble?

You need a reader that can read SDHC. Amazon has Transcend 16GB CLass 6 with a USB reader for $44.
I think you can also transfer direct via USB cable for now.

your monitor probably doesnt support SDHC. You need a reader for SDHC cards. You can find them fairly cheap and if you are looking for more cards may I suggest Transcend from Amazon you can get a card and a handy little reader included that works well. Some have reported bad build quality of the microcenter cards such as the lock switch falling off after several uses etc.

The cam requires class 4 so class 6 is overkill. That said, I wouldn't buy class 4--class 6 is cheap and readily available.

I saw a post recently saying that class 10 will be available eventually.
