Just wondering if anyone had checked for a service menu on the HM100?
On the HD100 it's press "menu" and "focus-assist" in 24p mode.

I am thinking about when the need arises to run pixel-compensation, as I have done the procedure three maybe four times in the 3 and-a-bit years of using the GY-HD100.

It sounds like these lil' cameras are going to be very popular for travel - which can increase the chances of pixels popping up. So it would be useful to know.

I just spoke to tech support at JVC UK who were very helpful and confirmed that pixel compensation cannot be done in-camera on the HM100 unlike the HM700.

The procedure can be done, but requires service by JVC as it has to be "hooked up to a computer" to do it. It was suggested that *maybe* a software update might be able to add the facility, but I wouldn't assume - as we often get carried away thinking firmware updates can fix just about anything.

Not a deal-breaker, It still looks like a great option for second, discrete or travelling cam.

Its like back to the old vx1000 days (I don't think there was any pixel comm options serviced or otherwise - after 6 years use mine looked like the sky at night by the time I moved on) The ergonomics look pretty similar too, aperture on a dial at the back and so on.
