I was wondering if there is an adapter to go from TA5F to 1/8" mini.

Pretty much what I'd like to do is plug my Tram TR50 which is wired for Lectrosonics, and plug the mic into a MiniDisc recorder.

As of now, I know I could go from TR50 into TR79, use a XLR to 1/4" cable, and then a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter. But that seems really bulky, and was looking to see if anyone knew of a simpler way w/o cutting up my mic cable.

Thanks!

You will need to get power to the Tram somehow if you don't use the TR79.

Is the 1/8" jack powered?

The MicroTrack apparently can power a mic through the 1/8" jack. Here is a VoiceTechnologies mic wired for this:
microtrack | B&H Photo Video (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?ci=0&shs=microtrack&sb=ps&pn=1&sq=desc&InitialSearch=yes&O=jsp%2FRootPage.jsp&A=search&Q=*&bhs=t&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=submit)

But I haven't seen a Tram wired this way, and I haven't seen an adapter -- though I would like one as I have a TR50 I would like to use with the 1/8" input and not use the power supply and bulky XLR cable.

I know that 1/8" mic jacks can provide some power, although I don't know if it would be enough.

Maybe this would work to test it out:

Remote Audio | TA5-Male Connector | TA5M-B | B&H Photo Video (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=425368&is=REG&A=details&Q=)

And see if I can wire this to a 1/8" jack.

Anyone know what the chances I could blow out my TR50?

The little Sony PCM D50 recorder can also put around 5V on the 1/8 mic port.
