The new Imax experience: Is it a big screen or a big scam? | The Big Picture | Los Angeles Times (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/the_big_picture/2009/05/the-new-imax-experience-is-it-a-big-screen-or-a-big-scam.html)
Interesting rant.
Looks like the writer is complaining that not all IMAX movie theaters are created the same. [And why they are charging extra for an "inferior" experience on the smaller retrofitted theaters.].
I do wonder about this...I know seeing my first IMAX film at the Smithsonian way back in the late 80s was quite amazing--and it filled the limits of my peripheral vision.
Of course..yes IMAX is more than just size...it is about clarity too.
