I have just ordered a AG-HMC151E that will be delivered tomorrow (and a 32gb card that won't be with me until next week, worst luck).

I was wondering if anyone had any advice, little tips and tricks that can be used to get the best out of the camera? I'm interested in everything from interesting shutter speeds to the gain control, the best ways to handle in-camera audio... anything you can think of :)

Expect it to take a few weeks to a few months to get used to the camera and get your best captures. I got mine last year and am still learning and getting better and better footage. It's a great camera.

I agree with what Jeff said. In addition, learn to use the wave form monitor. This has been a fantastic feature for me, and IMO its the best way to check your exposure levels.

Thank you both. The waveform monitor looks fantastic (I saw it on their promotional material) and seams to solve a problem that I had with my JVC GZ-HD7EK. I'm really looking forward to using that.

We're not shooting until November so I should have enough time to get used to the camera.
