So now that the preorder rush for the DP1 is over... I was wondering what mounting arms everyone is planning to use with it?
I'm thinking of making a mount that screws onto the spare screw storage threads on the side of my manfrotto quick release. Seems then the monitor would follow the tripod head, but also cause no strain on the camera. (not that the 1.6lbs of the dp1 is terribly heavy).
But that still leaves the question of which arm to mount to the bracket.
So... what mounts/arms are you planning to use?
Cheers,

I'm planning on using a Noga Israeli arm to mount the monitor to my Cinevate cage and rails...

Good evening,
The noga Arm is good right out of the manfrotto quickrelease.
I am planning on mounting mine on the rear battery mounting plate on my xlh1 and my xl2. The plan for this is two fold, one to use it with the steadycam for roving shots. but also to use in a blind when filming wildlife.
for weddings and events the noga off a manfrotto quick release will work perfect.
the Noga is nice because it is so adjustable!
At least that is the plan.
Open to other more econmical ideas that will work well!!!!!!

I ended up going with a Zacuto Zonitor package as I've had zero issues with my Zacuto gear so far: Zacuto | Z-ZHH Zonitor Lightweight Kit | Z-ZHH15 | B&H Photo (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=workaround.jsp&A=details&Q=&sku=587379&is=REG)

I found this manfrotto arm:
tripods, heads, monopods, light stands, camera supports, lighting supports, professional tripod 814-1 - MINI HYDROSTAT ARM (http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/site/manfrotto/pid/16373)
and the price at B&H:

Hey folks - this may be moot by now - but if you were to compare the Nolga shown on Noga Holdit Arm (Israeli Arm) DG1105 w/ Lindcraft Barrel (http://www.filmtools.com/noga-holdit-arm-dg1105-lindcraft.html) directly with the ikan shown on ikancorp.com: MA206 6" Articulating Arm (http://www.ikancorp.com/pages/accessories/monitor_arms/MA206/index.html),
you might find them close enough to be twins. There is also a 10" version, MA210. The major difference being in the price; both ikans are at least $35 less. The ikan MA206 is available for $79.95 at Tapeworks Texas. Call Blane @ 866-827-3489; you may also find the ikan V5600,5.6" HD monitor w/HDMI interesting as well. Thanks

At great expense to the management of my company (me) I settled on Zacuto Zamerican medium articulated arm, clamp & quick release monitor mount. What a superbly manufactured piece of kit. This arm system will fit to top handle of the camera as well as to tripod leg, so the monitor goes wherever I need and want it to be mounted. The Zacuto will last for many generations of cameras, that's for sure!!!
I'm a very happy owner.
