What swidth screw should I be looking for? Scott Dordick May 4th, 2009, 09:05 AM There are 2 different size threads that are used on tripods and cameras. The larger one is 3/8-16 and the smaller one is 1/4-20. Chris Soucy May 4th, 2009, 03:18 PM If you're missing the 1/4" screw, screw/ pin plate and VHS pin assembly, don't despair. (It sounds like you have the twin 3/8 screws instead) E - mail: Peter.Harman@VitecGroup.com with a covering letter explaining the situation. Peter is the Product Manager for Vinten, UK and can sort you out. Let us know how you go. CS Bill Pryor May 4th, 2009, 03:21 PM Canon also sells a tripod adapter plate, the TA-100, that has both 3/8" and 1/4" threaded sockets on the bottom. However, there are probably other adapter plates that would be cheaper. This one is a quick release plate. I looked at purchasing the VHS pin adapter, but found it too expensive for a screw+pin. What i did instead, i bought a few Manfrotto/Bogen 357 QR-adapter's, it was a lot cheaper then 1 vinten-plate and now i can switch my 2 camera's between all my devices (tripod, superclamp. glidetrack, time-laps-motormount, etc.) |
